WYNDHAM REACH HOTEL - Located just a few yards down the beach from it’s sister hotel, the Wyndham Casa Marina, this property is somewhat more compact but has a nice pool, its own small beach, a pier and beautifully landscaped grounds. Many rooms front on the ocean, most of the rest have views of the lush gardens. The hotel is located near Key West’s southernmost point, a short walk to the tennis facility at the adjacent Wyndham Casa Marina, and next door to Louie’ s Back Yard, one of Key West’s perennial favorite restaurants. Highly recommended.

WYNDHAM CASA MARINA - This large, full service resort is one of the top two hotels in Key West, or the top three if you include its sister resort, the adjacent Wyndham Reach (the third being the Key West Hilton). The Casa Marina has just about anything a vacationing couple or family would need, including the full array of water sports activities, a nice beach, expansive grounds, a number of dining facilities, and an on-site tennis facility (the only private tennis facility in Key West) with three lighted deco-turf courts and two resident tennis pros. Highly recommended.

THE KEY WEST HILTON RESORT AND MARINA - Our very favorite, this new property carries our highest recommendation, and compares favorably in many ways to world-class hotels and resorts anywhere
on the continent.

The Hilton has absolutely everything, but in particular, a prime location, directly on the water, a few steps from the north end of Duval Street, but also overlooking Sunset Key, and adjacent to Mallory Square. Indeed, with its own expansive dock rivaling Mallory Square’s (to which it is connected by footbridge), it has its own sunset celebration complete with buskers and street performers every evening. Most of the hotel’s nicely decorated rooms have either ocean views, or views of the hotel’s lovely pool, and a few have both. The resort also has its own marina, as well as a private beach, island restaurant and deluxe guesthouses on Sunset Key, accessible by launch directly from the hotel.

GRAND KEY RESORT -The Grand Key Resort is a clean, new, moderately priced, full-service hotel located on North Roosevelt Road at the eastern end of the island. The hotel has a nice pool, of course, as well as modern dining facilities, and a shuttle to nearby Smathers Beach, a lovely, mile-long public beach with broad views of the open ocean. Recommended for anyone who doesn’t mind a one-minute shuttle ride to the beach.

MARRIOTT COURTYARD -Clean and modern courtyard-type hotel with a nice pool. Some rooms do overlook the bay across the street, though most front on the pool and surrounding gardens. The hotel is nicely furnished, across the street from the bay and perhaps a three- or four-minute drive to Smathers Beach. Recommended.

SHERATON KEY WEST SUITES - Modern, all-suites and full-service hotel located directly across the street from Smathers Beach, a lovely, mile-long public beach with broad views of the open ocean. Some rooms have ocean views (ask for a room on an upper floor), some have views of the pool, and some have views of the lush gardens. The hotel offers regular shuttle service to and from the Mallory Square area. Highly recommended for any family.

THE PIER HOUSE - Once the premier hotel and resort in Key West, this property is still in the top tier of deluxe Key West properties. The hotel is located on the water, near Mallory Square at the edge of Old Town. Many of its rooms front on a small private beach, or on the on the hotel’s beautiful gardens. The Pier House restaurant has lovely views of the harbor, and remains one of Key West ’s best dining options. The hotel and restaurant are highly recommended.
